These terms apply to personal use commissions only. For commercial use commissions, a different contract will be drafted according to the terms discussed.

I reserve the right to decline any commission offer.

Commissions are prioritized by payment first basis, unless deadlines and rush fees has been included.

All personal information between the artist and client will be kept private and confidential.

Commissions can be paid either 100% upfront or split 50% upfront and 50% after sketch approval. 

I will not start any commission unless payment has been made first.

A payment plan can be discussed for commissions over 300USD.

I will notify you once I have started on your commission. Updates will be sent for every stage of the work process. During the updates, I will be reviewing the artwork with you and ask for your thoughts and any revisions before I move on to the next stage. 

My work stages are commonly: drafts/thumbnails, clean sketch, color draft, lines (if lined), colors, & rendering. Time spent on each stage of the process will vary depending on the artwork. 

The finished artwork will be sent to the client at its original resolution in PNG file. The default format is A4 300dpi and adjusted according to request. Note that there is no physical product. The final delivery includes:

You get 3 rounds of revisions included in the price. This is only applicable for the draft, clean sketch, and color draft stages. Revisions done after the color draft stage is approved will be charged because the stages beyond that will only require final cleanup.

Additional revisions will be charged depending on the change you want me to make. I will make sure to inform you if a revision you want will be charged before going through with it.

A fee will be added if you want something changed on the final drawing – unless a misunderstanding from my side has been made.  

I will not be responsible for any mistakes on the final version of any commission due to incorrect or missing information. It is the commissioner's responsibility to provide all relevant information when requesting a commission.  

I, Marc M. (the artist), reserve the full rights to the artwork and its distribution and use. Therefore, I am allowed to use the copyrighted artwork to do, but not limited to, the following:  

Publish books with it (art books, etc.). 

Display it everywhere to my liking (website, social media, portfolio, etc.). 

Claim any Intellectual Property (IP) that doesn’t belong to the artist. 

Make further direct profit out of the artwork 

The client is allowed, but not limited, to:  

Use the commissioned artwork for personal use. 

Print/reproduce any part of the artwork for personal use. 

The following is considered copyright infringement: 

Reproducing/using any part of the artwork commercially or make money off it in any way.

Claiming any part of the artwork as your own. 

Using any part of the artwork for advertising or profits associated with non-fungible tokens and cryptocurrency. 

Using any part of the artwork for promotional and/or advertising purposes. This includes, but not limited to, promotions for yourself, brands, and/or public figures. 

Altering/editing the artwork without the artist’s explicit permission. 

If for any reason I am unable to start your commission, you will receive a full refund.

If you cancel your commission before I started it, you will receive a full refund. 

Partial refund is available only until the color draft stage. Once you approve the color draft, you will lose all rights to a refund. Partial refund rates: 

If the client breaks any of the points stated, they will lose all the before mentioned rights to the artwork commissioned from me, Marc M. (the artist), and I will have the right to profit further from the commissioned artwork in any way I see fit. If you have a problem with any of these statements, they may be changed if discussed with me prior to paying your commissioned piece.

My illustration commissions are for more complex concept-based requests. I will work extensively on any ideas and concepts with you and explore different concepts together. My strength as an illustrator is in storytelling so, please work with me to create the story you want to tell for your illustration.

The process for this type of commission is more flexible. Please send a request form explaining the concepts and expectations you have in mind, and I will communicate and pitch to you how I plan to carry out the illustration.
